David Port is a writer, editor, published author, journalist and content strategist with extensive experience in B2B and B2C communications channels and media formats, from digital content to traditional print publishing to multichannel corporate communications. His expertise lies in advertising/marketing/branding content, eBooks, white papers, news and feature articles, blogs, case studies and executive speeches. He’s lead author of two books for expectant and new dads, The Caveman’s Pregnancy Companion and Caveman’s Guide to Baby’s First Year, was development editor for Aaron Templer’s award-winning book, Leading in a Social World, and ghostwriter for books by several other published authors. His bylines have appeared in numerous print and digital media outlets. David founded Southpaw Communications in 2000.

A few of my favorite things: My family, reading, snowboarding, camping, baseball (best sport ever invented), Colorado’s world-class craft beer, beating my wife at Scopa, pigs, live music and Colorado’s music scene, renewable energy, projects to keep our 120-year-old house standing tall, pickleball with friends.

Emily Port has 20+ years of experience managing public relations programs and strategic communications campaigns for numerous businesses and nonprofits. She brings a breadth of experience including media relations and training, brand management, grassroots marketing, internal communications and crisis communication. Emily has focused her efforts in the areas of education, consumer products, healthcare and food and beverage.

In conjunction with her work for Southpaw Communications, Emily consults with two Denver-based communications firms, GroundFloor Media and Feed Media. Prior to her launching Southpaw, Emily was director of field marketing for the national restaurant chain Noodles & Company. Emily also brings a wide array of experience from her tenure at various public relations and advertising agencies working on accounts including Burger King, Marriott and The Eye Center. Before moving to Denver, Emily handled communications for American Forests, a nonprofit environmental group in Washington, D.C.

A few of my favorite things: Cooking, watching our daughters grow into amazing young women, skiing, spy movies and books, growing herbs, Rosé, traveling whenever and wherever, laughing, live music, biking, hanging with friends.
